GRAMMY-WINNING OPIUM MOON SUBMITS NEW ALBUM ‘THE TIME HAS COME’ FOR GRAMMY CONSIDERATION
GRAMMY-winning quartet Opium Moon returns with The Time Has Come, a soulful, sensual album submitted for GRAMMY® consideration in 2026
In a world increasingly shaped by AI, we wanted to create something deeply human—music that asks people to slow down, listen, and connect.”
BEVERLY HILLS, CA, UNITED STATES, August 20, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Grammy-winning quartet Opium Moon returns with "The Time Has Come", its fourth album, a deeply soulful and cinematic work that invites listeners to slow down, reconnect, and experience the power of music created entirely by human hands. The album has been submitted for GRAMMY® consideration in 2026.— Opium Moon
In an era increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, shrinking attention spans, and algorithm-driven entertainment, "The Time Has Come" offers something increasingly rare: music that asks the listener to be present. Across 10 tracks and 53 minutes, Opium Moon creates an immersive world of sensuality, spirituality, mystery, and connection—music equally suited to quiet reflection, meditation, intimacy, or simply getting lost in sound.
The album opens with the sinuous midnight melodies and deep grooves of “1001 Nights,” journeys through mystery and drama on “Throne of Sand,” and culminates in the celebratory “Morning Sun,” featuring virtuosic solos and propulsive rhythms. Throughout the album, the quartet’s extraordinary chemistry transforms individual performances into something larger, rapturous, haunting, and deeply human.
Opium Moon brings together four accomplished musicians: violinist "Lili Haydn", santoor player "Hamid Saeidi", fretless bassist "Itai Disraeli", and percussionist "MB Gordy". Haydn’s passionate violin and Saeidi’s shimmering Persian santoor intertwine with Disraeli’s singing fretless bass and Gordy’s intricate percussion, creating a sound that feels both ancient and contemporary.
The album also reflects the extraordinary personal and cultural journeys of its members. Saeidi was born in Iran and Disraeli in Israel—countries separated by profound political conflict—yet their collaboration within Opium Moon becomes an act of connection and harmony. Their music reaches beyond borders, bringing together different traditions and perspectives through a shared language that needs no translation.
Each member of Opium Moon has also contributed music to film and television. Haydn was nominated for an Emmy for her work on the Netflix series "Ginny & Georgia". Together, the quartet creates music that is intentionally spacious and cinematic, allowing each instrument to breathe while creating an atmosphere that is both intimate and expansive.
"The Time Has Come" represents an elegant evolution of the sound established on Opium Moon’s self-titled debut, which earned the band a GRAMMY® Award in 2019**. The quartet was subsequently "nominated for another GRAMMY® in 2020", establishing Opium Moon as one of the most distinctive ensembles working at the intersection of world music, cinematic composition, improvisation, and contemporary instrumental music.
The new album continues that evolution while carrying a particularly timely message. At a moment when technology increasingly determines what people hear, see, and consume, Opium Moon creates music that cannot be reduced to an algorithm. It is performed, breathed, improvised, and felt by four musicians responding to one another in real time.
As "The Time Has Come" suggests, the album is ultimately about more than music. It is an invitation to return to presence, intimacy, beauty, and our shared humanity.
